What are Double Pointed Needles? Double pointed needles are for knitting small things in the round. They usually come in a set of four or five needles. As their name implies, both needle ends are pointed, meaning that you can knit from either end of the needle.

The single point needles are typically 10-inches or 14-inches in length. Double-pointed needles are usually 4 to 8 inches in length.
