One of the more common engines in CEDH is the combination of Isochron Sceptre and Dramatic Reversal. You essentially imprint Dramatic Reversal onto your Isochron Sceptre. When you use the ability on the Sceptre to cast the Reversal, it will untap the Sceptre and any non-land, mana-producing permanents you have in play.

Is Isochron Scepter banned in EDH?
Isochron Scepter should be banned. This isn’t really a rulings question, but yes, imprinting a Silence or a Counterspell onto an Isochron Scepter is totally legal. If you combine it with Silence or Counterspell then the game is over. Your opponent cannot cast any spells.
Does Isochron Scepter work with overload?
No. Both Isochron Scepter and Overload are alternate costs, and you can’t cast a spell paying two different alternate costs. Since Overload doesn’t let you cast the Rift off the Scepter, you have to settle for a single bounce.
