Are adjustable sway bar links worth it?
Are adjustable sway bar links worth it?
Adjustable sway links are really only useful for left-right pre-load to balance the car for more predictable race use. They are pretty pointless for casual street use. The arm angle argument makes sense and I agree with it, but it wouldn’t be noticeable with street use setups like 98% of us have/want.
What is the purpose of an adjustable sway bar?
Allow their stiffness to be altered by increasing or reducing the length of the lever arms. This permits the roll stiffness to be tuned for different situations without replacing the entire bar. The stiffer the bar, the more force required to move the left and right wheels relative to each other.
What are the benefits of adjustable sway bar end links?
Adjustable end links give you the ability to use any of the adjustment holes of your stabilizer bar to properly fit it in your vehicle. Adjustable end links allow you to set the sway bar in the center of the control arms, ensuring there is no contact under heavy loading and unloading.
What angle should sway bar be at?
Typically the sway bar arms should be angled up towards the sway bar links somewhere around 10 degrees.
How does a front sway bar affect handling?
A sway bar’s purpose is to keep suspension movements relative throughout turns. This means that when the vehicle makes a right turn, the left side of the vehicle’s suspension will compress similarly to the right side, keeping more weight on the inner tires.
Do you need adjustable end links with coilovers?
Not all of our coilover offerings will require a shortened or adjustable end link but rest assured that we will include them if your kit needs them. If sway bar end links are included with your coilover kit, it will be essential to note that they will be adjustable in length.
Do I need shorter sway bar links?
You will need longer endlinks to get the bar back to a more ideal geometry. You need to extend your links 1.5″ if space allows, otherwise at least 1 to 1.25″. When lowering the suspension, you will need shorter endlinks.
