What is Kooltherm?
What is Kooltherm?
Kingspan Kooltherm is a fibre-free rigid thermoset phenolic core, and a thermal conductivity of 0.018 – 0.023 W/mK, and is one of the most thermally efficient insulation products commonly used in the market. Kooltherm is not affected by air infiltration and is resistant to moisture and water vapours.
What type of insulation is Kooltherm?
phenolic insulation
Kooltherm insulation is an advanced phenolic insulation with low thermal conductivities and used in an extensive range of new and existing building applications.
What is Kooltherm made from?
The Kingspan Kooltherm range comprises the thinnest commonly used insulation products for any specific U-value. With a fibre-free rigid thermoset phenolic core, and a thermal conductivity of 0.018 – 0.023 W/m·K, these are the most thermally efficient insulation products commonly used.
Is Kingspan Kooltherm fire resistant?
Assemblies featuring Kingspan thermoset insulation products (including Kingspan Kooltherm®, Kingspan Therma®, Kingspan TEK® and Kingspan Kooltherm Cavity Closer) perform very well in fire resistance tests and can outperform equivalent constructions featuring non-combustible synthetic mineral fibre insulation.
What is Kooltherm K7?
Kooltherm K7 is a pitched roof insulation board used to insulate the rafters of tiled or slated pitched roofs. It is suitable for use in dwarf walls, attic floors and dormer windows. It offers thermal conductivity as low as 0.021 W/mK. Product Highlights.
Is kingspan Kooltherm flammable?
Kingspan thermoset insulation products (such as Kingspan QuadCore®, Kingspan Kooltherm® and Kingspan Therma®) are ‘combustible’. This classification is arrived at based on testing of small product samples through the Euroclass System.
Is kingspan Kooltherm safe?
As part of our commitment to large scale system testing, many of our cladding products, including Kingspan Kooltherm K15 Rainscreen Board, have been successfully tested as part of specific assemblies, to the requirements of BR 135, using the demanding BS 8414 test.
Is kingspan Kooltherm combustible?
Is kingspan K107 the same as K7?
With a higher rated thermal conductivity Kooltherm K107 replaces Kingspan Kooltherm K7. Being a premium quality pitched roof insulation K107 can be installed at a thinner thickness than the standard PIR insulation board to hit the required target ‘U’ Value.
