Can your GP refer you to Slimming World?
Patients are provided with a referral form by a health professional (typically a GP, nurse, midwife or Health Trainer) and these are redeemed at a local Slimming World group. The patient is able to choose the most convenient Slimming World group to attend from a list of local groups.
How do I refer myself to Slimming World?
You can self-refer by contacting Slimming World on 01773 307387 Monday to Friday 9.00am to 6.30pm, or by being referred by a health professional.
How do you qualify for free Slimming World?
Eligibility criteria
- have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 28 or above.
- live within Northamptonshire.
- not be pregnant.
- be 18 years of age.
- be ready and motivated to lose weight.
- not have been a paying member of a weight management service in the last 3 months.
Can I ask my doctor for weight-loss pills?
Who is a candidate for weight-loss drugs? Your doctor may consider a weight-loss drug for you if you haven’t been able to lose weight through diet and exercise and you meet one of the following: Your body mass index (BMI) is greater than 30.

You can replace the Weetabix with oats if you prefer (40g porridge oats is a healthy extra B choice) but I personally do not like overnight oats, hence why I make with Weetabix instead and I almost always have chocolate Weetabix!
