Environmental beliefs are regarded as a system of attitudes and beliefs that determine people’s environmental behavior (Gray & Weigel, 1985); they are, thus, a form of behavioral beliefs. Stern et al. (1995) and Dietz et al. (1998) divide environmental beliefs into two types: general beliefs and specific beliefs.
