How long does it take to install a worktop?
As a guide, we would suggest that a two-piece worktop with one mitred corner, one sink and one hob cut out, will take about 3 hours to fit. A more complex installation, such as three sections, a joint, a mitred corner and multiple cut-outs will take anything from half a day to a full day.
Do you Mitre solid wood worktops?
Jointing worktops As a rule only Butt joints should be used on wooden worktops. However, if your worktop has a radius and you do have to use a mitre joint, ensure that the “hockey stick” does not over extend the 10mm bull-nose radius.

Without the correct protection from a moisture barrier, your worktop will absorb moisture released by your appliances, making it prone to bowing or warping.

We recommend that your measurements allow for a 20-30mm overhang at the front and exposed edges of your worktop, along with a 3-4mm gap between your worktop and wall (to leave room for sufficient expansion and contraction).

Is Granite better than Corian?

Granite is hard to scratch, can handle extremely high temperatures, needs to be maintained with a yearly sealant application, and can stain if you’re not diligent about cleaning up spills.
