Can you replace peloton pedals with SPD?

Can you switch or swap out pedals on a Peloton bike? As I just mentioned, yes, you can switch the Peloton pedals. You may want to swap them for SPD pedals if you already own spin or cycling shoes with SPD cleats on them, such as if you use them on your outdoor bike.

Are all Shimano SPD cleats the same?

There are three different models of Shimano SPD-SL cleats to choose from that are designated by three colors: yellow, red, and blue. Each of the cleats offers unique features, including different float ranges and pivot points, and are designed with varied rider biomechanics in mind.

Do you need special shoes for SPD pedals?

Does Shimano SPD fit Peloton?

Shimano IC3 and IC5 shoes have a 2-bolt cleat design which are not compatible with the Delta cleats and pedals that come with a Peloton bike. However, you can swap the Delta pedals on your Peloton bike for Shimano SPD pedals in order to use your IC shoes.

Does Peloton use SPD or Delta?

The Peloton Bike uses Delta-compatible cleats, which you can affix to the bottom of our Peloton shoes or any pair of bike shoes with a 3-screw hole setup. We encourage you to use the pedals your Bike comes with for an optimal ride.

Can you convert SPD to Delta?

If You Already Have SPD Shoes or Want SPD Shoes And even though cars can drive themselves now, you can’t convert your Spin shoes from an SPD cleat to a Delta cleat (IKR?). There are special adapters you can buy that can convert a LOOK Delta shoe to be compatible with SPD pedals, but not the other way around.

What pedals will fit my bike?

If you want to know your bike pedal size you can check the width of the thread with a set of digital callipers. Alternatively you can ask the manufacturer of the crank or you can take your bike to a local bicycle service repairs / local bike shop and ask them to clarify the pedal thread size needed.

What size are my pedal threads?

Bicycle pedals are commonly a 9/16″ x 20 threads per inch. The inside diameter of the internal thread (the “nut”) must be smaller. Measured in millimeters, the OD of the pedal is typically 14.2mm. For cranks the internal thread is nominally 13mm.
