Does Day One Android support end-to-end encrypted journals? Day One Android does not currently support end-to-end encrypted journals, but will at a later time.

Where is the encryption key on Day One?

Tap any journal and then tap Advanced for the encryption setting. As of version 4.2, encryption is enabled by default and a private key is generated automatically. It is stored securely in CloudKit. You can also access it at any time if you are logged in by selecting “Show Encryption Key” in the Sync setting.

Can you use Day One on your laptop?

Today, Day One only works on iOS and Mac (both have to be purchased separately). If you want to use Day One on your desktop Windows PC, you are essentially out of luck.

How do I recover a deleted Day One entry?

If the entry is still open and you have not yet tapped Done: tap Edit in the Mac menu bar, then tap Undo. If you have already tapped ‘Done’ to exit the entry: there is unfortunately no way to recover the deleted text. Right-click on that file, then open it with TextEdit.

Can you use Apple Pencil Day One journal?

Can you export Day One?

If you own Day One V2 or V3 follow this guide for exporting your entries as JSON to a specific folder. To import from Day One V1 click on File → Back Up Journal then open the preferences and select the Backup tab to locate your exported entries.

Is Apple notes app reliable?

The note and all of its attachments are encrypted using AES with Galois/Counter Mode (AES-GCM). New records are created in Core Data and CloudKit to store the encrypted note, attachments, tag, and initialization vector. After the new records are created, the original unencrypted data is deleted.
